You missed a great evening last night at Stewart’s Equipment in Brisbane (technically Town of Erin).
We started our workshop with Mark Eastman speaking about…yes, manure! All horses produce it. Lots of it and all horse owners deal with it. Well, move it around anyway.
Mark had some excellent suggestions and tips on how to better manage, compost and work with manure in ways that can result in efficiencies and income possibilities (via re-selling as compost). In addition, Mark will be hosting a follow up workshop called Healthy Lands, Healthy Horses. For more information, please contact Mark directly at: email@example.com
Our next speaker was Ron Pearn, a Sales Specialist from Landpride. Ron has been a product supplier for many years to Stewart’s Equipment. Ron introduced seeding and pasture management equipment and viable solutions for taking better care of horse pastures. If you have further questions regarding Landpride, please contact Ron directly at 519.871.1600 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Jeff Stewart was also on hand, and welcomed all course participants with a Kubota Cap and a reusable IH Tote Bag. Any horse owner who has any any questions or concerns are welcome to drop by and speak to the agri-equipment professionals at Stewart’s. You can reach Jeff or Rob at 519.833.9616.
The second portion of our workshop featured Glenn Storey, Certified Seed Advisor from Woodrill Canada, a big producer and supplier in the seed industry. Glenn covered the many different grasses, legumes and fescues which are important components of a healthy horse pasture, how and when to re-seed, and the importance of soil testing. Glenn can be reached at Woodrill: 519 821.1018, extension 6 or via email at email@example.com
Door prizes included: a muck rake, Woodrill shirts and Healthy Horses CVCA Resource Books, new buckets and a bag of feed from Budson’s Farm & Feed Co.
Next week’s course is titled, When to call the Vet: vaccines, colic, parasites and injury. Join us and find out what you need to enjoy healthy, happy horses!
